As posted on Teh Shack…an NYU Student has re-cut the trailer for Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of Christ”, and dubbed in the music from Kill Bill. The result? Hi-larity!
This continues my long standing belief that 99% of a trailer’s effectiveness comes from its soundtrack. Anyone want to cut a trailer for Return of the King with some Herb Alpert in it? My sides are splitting already.
I once recut one of the trailers for (of all things) Daikatana with the song “The Lady is a Tramp” as performed by They Might Be Giants (With a couple of intro and outtro stingers “provided” by old Cartoon Network stuff.
Hilarity ensued.

I’ve often toyed with the idea of cutting a Star Wars Prequel trailer with the Jonny Lang song “The Darker Side”… My technical skills precluded me from ever bringing the idea to fruition, however.
Now I feel dirty. Yay! Do you think I can go to Robot Hell instead of normal hell? They have great song and dance there.
