According to Reuters, Japanese researchers have created “bilk”, a combination of beer and milk, developed to help combat declining milk consumption. It contains hops, is 30% milk, and is produced in a similar process to beer. Supposedly it “tastes like ordinary beer” but I find that extremely hard to believe. Can you imagine what a bilk hangover feels like?

This sounds disgusting. I’m not a big fan of dairy-based alcoholic beverages (with the recent large exception of egg nog, which is probably the #1 dairy-based alcoholic drink) and I don’t like beer/malt beverage concoctions. Beyond that, I’m shocked that a Japanese company would develop something like this because many asian people are lactose intolerant, so that combined with the fact that they lack one of the enzymes to properly process alcohol should make this product a world of fun for them.
first milk beer, now chocolate beer from those crazy Japanese
