Listen Warner Bros, I know Watchmen is technically a superhero movie, and therefore is ripe for tie-ins, but don’t you think there’s something slightly disturbing about selling a Halloween costume of The Comedian? I mean maybe? Just a little?

Yes I know Freddie Kruger and Jason (the slasher, not, you know, me) costumes are commonplace, but I’m pretty sure there was never a scene in Friday the 13th or A Nightmare on Elm Street where the villain rapes anyone. Not to mention murders his pregnant Vietnamese lover in cold blood. I can’t help but think that’s a different class entirely. But then, I guess I’m just old fashioned.

In any event, if you see someone wearing this costume, you might want to cross to the other side of the street.
