With the newfangled blogging software powering this site, this seems as good a time as any to rewrite my bio…

For about seven years, I worked as a journalist covering the video game industry. My primary haunts were at Shacknews and Blue’s News (both of which are still around and going strong today) as well as loonygames, a site I created and edited for its two and a half years of insanity. On top of that I also freelanced for various other web sites and print publications such as GameSpy and GameSpot.

In 2004 I left that life behind to go work for Take 2 Interactive, first in their PR department, and then in 2006 I moved from PR into product development, where I am today. I’m the internal producer on games from Firaxis Games, and I pitch in on a few other random titles as well. You can see a very bizarre sampling of my career over at MobyGames.

I was a lifelong New Yorker, but in 2007 I packed up the family and moved out to the west coast when 2K relocated to California. I’m still getting used to that.

Outside of work (I really do have a life outside of work…I swear!), I live in the San Francisco bay area with my wife Heather and cat Tommy. I play lots of games and read lots of comics. I have a slight obsession with Superman.

My daughter Alice was born on February 5th, 2008 (Super Tuesday!). She has her own blog at AliceBergman.com (which until she’s old enough to post herself, is maintained by her parents).

Please do not read this site in the hopes of finding out dirt on Take 2, 2K, Firaxis or Rockstar Games. While I have been known to bend them a bit every now and then, I try and stick to the rules I’ve set for this site.

I love to get e-mail from fellow geeks/nerds, however due to an obscene amount of spam, I created a supersecret mail-only domain name. The domain exists nowhere on the web and thanks to some extreme paranoia on my part, I’ve managed to be spam free for some time now. If you’d like to get in touch with me, please visit this page (I apologize for the Captcha system, but it was necessary to prevent abuse from spam bots…if for some reason this prevents you from using the form, just post in the comments and I can contact you via e-mail).

Thanks for visiting!
